OverviewOur client, the U.S. subsidiary of a major Japan-based real estate developer and investor, is seeking a Bilingual Japanese Associate Manager, Real Estate Investments to join their team in El Segundo, CA.This position supports real estate investment activities including underwriting, market research, transaction execution, and reporting to headquarters in Japan. The role offers the opportunity to work on cross-border investment initiatives and collaborate closely with both U.S. and Japan-based teams.The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable managing multiple workstreams in a dynamic investment environment.Must-Have Requirements3-7 years of experience in real estate acquisitions, investment, or capital marketsStrong financial modeling and underwriting skills (Excel required; ARGUS experience preferred)Understanding of U.S. commercial real estate markets and investment processesAbility to manage multiple tasks, timelines, and stakeholders simultaneouslyNative-level English proficiency; business-level Japanese communication skills preferredBachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Business, or a related fieldAuthorization to work in the United StatesPreferred QualificationsUnderwriting experience in multifamily, logistics, or office assetsKnowledge of joint venture structures and waterfall modelsExperience working with Japanese corporations or multinational organizationsExposure to cross-border or Japan-related real estate transactionsStrong coordination and communication skills with internal and external stakeholdersProactive mindset with the ability to take ownership of projectsResponsibilitiesReal Estate Investment & AnalysisBuild detailed financial models and underwriting analyses for potential real estate investmentsReview investment materials including offering memorandums, rent rolls, financial statements, and ARGUS filesConduct market and submarket research and competitive analysisPrepare investment memoranda and materials for internal investment committee reviewTransaction & Project SupportSupport transaction execution and coordinate due diligence activities including inspections, third-party reports, and lender documentationCoordinate with brokers, partners, developers, lenders, and consultantsTrack deal timelines, documentation, and internal approval processesPortfolio & Cross-Border CoordinationMonitor progress and key milestones of existing investmentsReview monthly and quarterly asset reports and KPIsPrepare reports and documentation for Japan headquartersSupport visits by Japan-based executives and assist with cross-border coordination and communicationOperational SupportProvide general administrative support for the U.S. office including documentation management, scheduling, and coordination with internal and external stakeholdersLocation & CompensationLocation: El Segundo, CA (Hybrid work model)Employment Type: Full-time / ExemptSalary Range: $100,000 - $150,000 (depending on experience)Visa Sponsorship: Not availableBenefitsCompetitive U.S. benefits package (details shared during interview process)Paid time off (PTO) and company holidaysOpportunity to work within a global real estate investment platform with cross-border exposure
