Transportation & Strategic Sourcing Specialist

No C2C or 3rd party candidates will be considered.We are partnering with a stable and growing manufacturer near Evanston, IL to identify a Transportation & Strategic Sourcing Specialist. This role will serve as the primary point of contact for transportation sourcing, supplier negotiations, and logistics coordination while partnering closely with operations and supply chain teams.This is a hands-on role focused on managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts and terms, supporting transportation operations, and driving cost savings initiatives across logistics and MRO categories.ResponsibilitiesManage transportation and logistics sourcing activitiesNegotiate supplier pricing, contracts, and terms & conditionsPartner with carriers, brokers, 3PLs, and MRO suppliersSupport inbound/outbound transportation operations and freight optimizationCollaborate with operations and supply chain teams to support production needsAnalyze freight spend, supplier performance, and cost reduction opportunitiesUtilize OTM and ERP systems to support logistics and sourcing activitiesQualificationsBachelor's degree required, ideally in Supply Chain or related field5+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, sourcing, or supply chain within manufacturingStrong supplier negotiation and contract management experienceExperience working with transportation providers and MRO suppliersOTM experience strongly preferredStrong communication and problem-solving skillsWhy This OpportunityHigh-visibility role with strong operational impactCollaborative and stable manufacturing environmentCompetitive compensation and full benefits offered during the contract period
