Senior Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team, reporting to the VP of R&D. You'll serve as a technical lead across the product lifecycle, guiding core design decisions, risk analyses, certifications, and manufacturing scale-up"”while also being hands-on with design, prototyping, manufacturing, and troubleshooting.Please note that this is an hybrid role and you must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the office in San Diego, CA.Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.ResponsibilitiesLead all aspects of electrical design for body-worn electronics and accessoriesCollaborate with mechanical and software engineering to establish system elements, including motor drive hardware, processor selection, and safety logicEngage in hands-on prototyping, testing, and debuggingDesign for ESD performance and RF immunityEnsure robust field performance and compliance with applicable standardsIndependently conduct risk analysis, design verification, and process validationBOM and lifecycle, including vendor selection and qualificationSupport in-house manufacturing with a focus on electronics while also addressing cross-functional needs to ensure smooth production operations.What you bringA startup mindset: self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to take on complex, cross-functional challengesBachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related fieldA minimum of 5 years of engineering experienceExperience across all cycles of product development, from prototyping to productionExperience writing verification plans, protocols, and reports in a regulated industryExperience with Altium (preferred) or similar design toolsAbility to balance quick-and-dirty experimentation with rigorous design and analysisIdeally, experience in relevant fields: medical devices, body-worn devices, wireless communication, electro-mechanical devices, diabetes, and consumer productsWhat we offerA no-jerk policy - we seek the best and brightest talent who are fun to work withEquity - we are just setting off on this journey, and you will get in from the startExcellent health benefits
