On behalf of our client, a leading engineering consulting firm, we are seeking several Project Consultants, to add talent to its telecom and security engineering practices.Project Consultants will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the entire lifecycle of engineering projects within their respective industries. They will collaborate with clients to understand project requirements, develop strategic plans, coordinate design efforts, and ensure the successful implementation of telecommunications and security solutions.Technical examples include:Telecommunications: Service Entrance Facilities & Redundant PathwaysRedundant & Scalable WAN/LAN Network ArchitecturesRight-of-Way & Easement CoordinationBuilding Automated Systems Infrastructure/Connectivity (HVAC, Energy & Lighting Controls Systems)WAN/LAN for Voice, Data & VideoOutside Plant Underground Pathway Infrastructures & SystemsMulti-faceted Broadband & Satellite Distribution InfrastructureHigh Density Storage Area Network ApplicationsHigh Bandwidth Structured Cabling Systems ArchitectureWireless LAN Design & SimulationSecurity:Surveillance VideoElectronic Access Control & Door HardwareIntrusion Detection/PreventionMass Notification/Emergency CommunicationsPanic/Duress AlarmingIP Networks & Transport TechnologiesServer & Storage Area NetworksParking Control/Point-of-SaleCommand & Control FacilitiesSeattle, WA with occasional travel to client sites is ideal with consideration given towards remote candidates anywhere within the United States. Relocation assistance will be provided for those opting to be in Seattle.Key priorities:MarketingManage client relationships with fortune 100 clients and/or public sector and government entitiesDevelop & collaborate with the marketing group for content development including but not limited to project team resumes, process diagrams, project approach philosophy, specific design philosophy, project profiles, case studies and website contentCollaborate & technical QC review on RFQ and RFP project opportunity responsesParticipate in industry topic presentationsParticipate and lead project team interviewsWorkload & FinancialManage assigned project teams workload, team organizational structure, project milestones and key task deliverablesMaintain and update monthly workload forecasting summariesLead and support fee proposal development; ensure fee consistency between client types and project typesMonitor and track financial performance on projectsMonitor and track the need for evaluating additional services request submissionProcess billing review reports (BRRs) for assigned business sectors, clients & projectsReview draft invoicesManage client accounts receivable (AR) for assigned business sectors, clients & projectsEstablish workload design and construction task deliverable sequences and process to manage teams, train teams on time management, implement approaches to drive performance efficienciesStandards Documentation & Process ImplementationUnderstanding of CAD, Revit and BluebeamSpecification creation from masters within Microsoft WordCost Opinions creation from masters within Microsoft ExcelDrawing development look and feel consistency by business sector, client type and project typeClear understanding of design and installation detailsQualifications: Minimum 10 - 15 years in the telecom and security industryMinimum 5 years working in the construction industry; plan spec or design buildMinimum 5 years of direct client contact in consulting or construction fieldsMinimum 5 years in developing and delivering professional presentations on program status and opportunities for improvementsRCDD Certification for Telecom Role and PSP Certification for Security RoleThorough understanding of construction delivery methods (Design build, Design bid build, Negotiated contract)Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering ideal, but not required.Experience in at least two building types, i.e., Education, Retail, Commercial TI, etc.Excellent organizational and communications skillsExperience managing internal and external teams within the engineering fieldsExperience developing detailed scopes of work and reviewing professional contractsServe as a technical resource for others throughout the firm, providing thought leadership and subject matter expertise
