Has material management in a manufacturing environment is what the HM would be looking for."Job SummaryDriving inventory optimization and accuracy across the organization as well as managing the performance, cost, and capacity of our third-party logistics (3PL) providers. The Inventory Control Planner is focused on executing effective cycle count programs, investigating inventory discrepancies, and fine-tuning inventory levels to meet customer demand. This includes managing 3PL provider relationships, negotiating SLAs, and driving continuous operational performance improvements to ensure seamless fulfillment. The planner leverages advanced data analytics to uncover optimization opportunities and collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement solutions. In addition to these operational responsibilities, the Inventory Control Planner strives to streamline inventory management processes and introduce system automation where possible. By delivering inventory optimization, accuracy, and strong 3PL oversight, the Inventory Control Planner directly enhances the overall customer experience.Key job responsibilitiesManage and control performance, cost, and capacity of the External Fulfillment Logistics provider (3PL)Manage 3PL provider relationships, negotiate SLAs, and drive continuous operational performance improvementsEnsure inventory accuracy across the assigned program by implementing inventory controls and replenishment processesDevelop and execute effective cycle count programs to maintain inventory accuracyInvestigate inventory discrepancies, determine root causes, and implement corrective actionsAnalyze inventory data, identify optimization opportunities, and recommend solutions to improve turns, reduce waste, and enhance the customer experienceCollaborate with procurement, operations, and finance teams to align on inventory goals and drive initiatives to achieve themDesign and deploy streamlined inventory management workflows, leveraging system automation where possibleCreate and maintain comprehensive standard operating procedures for inventory-related activitiesSupport the implementation of inventory management system upgrades and enhancementsContribute to cross-functional projects related to engineering changes, master data management, and supply chain improvementsProvide analytical reports and actionable insights to senior leadershipBasic qualifications3+ years of supply chain, inventory management or project management experience- Bachelor's degree - Supply Chain, or Technical Engineering would be the 2 key types to focus onExperience communicating clearly and concisely with leadership, stakeholders, and cross-functional teamsExperience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilitiesExperience in vendor management/3PL OperationsPreferred qualificationsExperience with process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing or Six SigmaExperience with SQLAPICS Certification CPIM or CSCPTop 3 must-have hard skillsData Analysis/Analytical skillsProcess management experience Understanding 3PL/Production Operations related to MaterialsAbout US Tech Solutions:US Tech Solutions is a global staff augmentation firm providing a wide range of talent on-demand and total workforce solutions.
