Job DescriptionLeonard Workforce Solutions is conducting a confidential search on behalf of a growing organization seeking a qualified candidate for the following position.Our client is a Tucson-based engineering company that designs and fields advanced digital signal processing products and systems in support of national security missions for the U.S. Defense and Intelligence Communities. They are seeking a Senior DSP Engineer to lead the design and implementation of next-generation signal processing, geolocation, and communications systems in a highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary R&D environment.This is a senior-level technical leadership opportunity for a hands-on DSP subject matter expert who thrives on solving difficult, mission-critical problems end to end.What you will do:Lead the design and implementation of digital signal processing systems for communications, radar, geolocation, and related applicationsOwn algorithm design, data analysis, RF system modeling, computational optimization, error budget analysis, and operational performance analysisDevelop, deploy, test, and maintain production-grade software solutions, working with real-world data and field testingWork across the full lifecycle: systems engineering, development, integration and test, deployment, and O&M, with direct customer mission feedbackMentor engineers, provide technical guidance to program management, and serve as project technical lead or principal investigatorStay current with emerging DSP technologies, tools, and methodologies and bring innovative solutions into active programsOperate independently with minimal direction in a self-starter culture that rewards initiativeRequired Background:Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or an equivalent technical discipline15+ years of professional signal processing engineering experienceSubject matter expert in DSP with deep theoretical knowledge and a proven track record of successful system developmentDemonstrated experience as a project technical lead and/or principal investigatorExperience mentoring engineers and advising program leadershipProficiency in C++ and/or Python in Linux environmentsAbility to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearanceU.S. Citizenship requiredPreferred Background:Cellular communications, satellite communications, modern modulation schemes, cyclostationary techniquesGeolocation, radar signal processing, RF propagation and link budgets, RF system designDevOps and cloud computing experience (GitLab, CI/CD, CVE mitigations, Docker, Kubernetes, PIP)Experience as a technical lead on proposal effortsCurrent TS/SCI clearanceLocation: Tucson, AZ. This position is fully onsite.
