NPI Mechanical Engineer IIPosition SummaryOur client, a global hardware manufacturing company, is seeking an NPI Mechanical Engineer II. This role is responsible for supporting new product introduction (NPI), mechanical design validation, manufacturing readiness, and production support activities across server, storage, and computing platforms. The engineer will work closely with local manufacturing teams and Taiwan-based design teams to resolve mechanical issues, improve manufacturability, and support efficient product transitions into production.This position plays a key role in fixture and component design, failure analysis, process improvement, and cross-functional engineering collaboration to help ensure product quality, assembly efficiency, and operational reliability. The NPI Mechanical Engineer II is part of the Engineering Services team, which works across departments to support engineering and operations teams with technical expertise in electronics, operational software, and systems integration.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, quality, and customer support to resolve mechanical engineering issues and support product development initiatives.Analyze and troubleshoot mechanical issues, coordinating with Taiwan-based design teams and local manufacturing teams to identify root causes and corrective actions.Support and guide New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, ensuring products are manufacturable, assembly-ready, and successfully transitioned into production environments.Design, develop, and validate testing fixtures, jigs, and mechanical components to support engineering validation and manufacturing operations.Provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) recommendations to improve product quality, assembly efficiency, and manufacturing consistency.Review mechanical drawings and engineering specifications to verify dimensional accuracy, tolerances, and compliance with company standards.Perform mechanical fit, tolerance, and stress analyses to support product reliability and structural integrity.Conduct failure analysis investigations involving mechanical and structural components and recommend corrective actions as needed.Support tooling, sheet metal, and plastic component design, fabrication, inspection, and manufacturing processes.Create and maintain SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), work instructions, validation procedures, and engineering documentation.Serve as a communication bridge between Taiwan-based design teams and U.S. manufacturing operations to support production readiness and issue resolution.Participate in continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives related to mechanical engineering and manufacturing processes.Required QualificationsKnowledge and experience working with server, storage, and/or PC hardware platforms.Familiarity with developing server assembly SOPs and supporting manufacturing production lines.Ability to interpret engineering drawings, dimensional tolerances, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) requirements.Experience using measurement and inspection tools such as calipers and altimeters.Understanding of sheet metal manufacturing, fabrication, and inspection processes, including familiarity with NCT and hard tooling methods, preferred.Understanding of plastic component manufacturing and inspection processes, including mold-up and hard tooling methods, preferred.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work across global and cross-functional teams.Proficiency with CAD software such as Creo or Pro/ENGINEER preferred.Education & ExperienceBachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.Minimum of 3 years of professional mechanical engineering experience.Experience supporting manufacturing operations, NPI activities, or mechanical product development preferred.Physical RequirementsAbility to walk and stand on cement floors for extended periods.Ability to stoop, bend, and perform repetitive tasks as needed.Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer workstation.Ability to lift to 30 pounds.BenefitsMedical, dental, and vision coverage (following eligibility period), vacation, sick time, paid holidays, FSA/HSA options, and 401(k) matching program.About Veracity HireVeracity Hire LLC is a professional staffing and recruiting firm based in Orange County, California, connecting exceptional talent with meaningful opportunities across professional, technical, and leadership roles.Our mission is to redefine staffing through authenticity, integrity, and purpose.Staffing with Integrity.
