The Government Contract Billing Specialist is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and submitting invoices for federal government contracts in compliance with contract terms, Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) requirements, and company policies. This role works closely with contracts, accounting, project managers, and finance teams to ensure accurate and timely billing and revenue recognition.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and submit invoices for government contracts, including:Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF)Time & Materials (T&M)Firm Fixed Price (FFP)IDIQ task ordersReview contract terms and billing requirements to ensure compliance.Process invoices through government systems such as:Wide Area Workflow (WAWF)PIEEIPPDeltek CostpointReconcile labor, subcontractor, travel, and ODC (Other Direct Cost) charges.Monitor unbilled receivables and aging reports.Resolve invoice discrepancies and rejected invoices.Support DCAA audits and maintain supporting documentation.Coordinate with project managers on funding limitations and contract ceilings.Track contract modifications and funding updates.Assist with month-end close and revenue reporting.Ensure compliance with FAR, CAS, and company accounting policies.Required QualificationsAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.2-5+ years of government contract billing experience.Knowledge of FAR and DCAA compliance requirements.Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as:Deltek CostpointUnanetJAMISSAPOracleStrong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP preferred).High attention to detail and accuracy.Strong analytical and communication skills.
