Overview:Validation planning as well as test execution for chargers and power conversion projectsTop Skills:Complex Hardware testingLab testingEngine testing, Drivetrain testing is a plusEducation and Experience:Bachelors with 3-7 years of experienceMasters is okPosition's Contributions to Work GroupMake detailed test requests for the lab resources that will be needed one to two weeks ahead of the start of a test.Perform hands-on testing in the lab.Ensure that all data quality processes are followed before and during testing.Perform data analysis and post test reporting as required.Typical task breakdown:The Power Conversion Test Engineer works closely with the power conversion validation team to understand the technical risks that are being evaluated with a given test. This role will primarily execute detailed test plans in the Electrification" lab. SAFETY is the highest priority program and the individual who secures this role will have a responsibility to "be their brother's keeper" in the lab, looking out for their team members safety also. The priority for the modular PCS product, which this role will be performing various validation tests to support, will fall close behind in priority. This role will not only execute the hands on testing, this role will be responsible for making test requests for lab resources needed at least one to two weeks in advance of the start of the test, ensuring that data quality documentation is up-to-date for the test zone being utilized, and submitting continuous improvement ideas for ways to improve safety, quality, and/or test efficiency.Day-to-Day Activities Include:· Make detailed test requests for the lab resources that will be needed one to two weeks ahead of the start of a test.· Perform hands-on testing in the lab.· Ensure that all data quality processes are followed before and during testing.· Perform data analysis and post test reporting as required.Interaction with teamThe Power Conversion Test Engineer works closely with the power conversion validation team to understand the technical risks that are being evaluated with a given test. The test engineer also works closely with the lab support team to inform them of the resource requirements needed in order to successfully complete the testing. (voltage levels, power levels, instrumentation needs, etc.)Team StructureThis role will be part of the power conversion validation and test execution team. This team is responsible for determining a new product's technical risk and developing validation plans to mitigate that risk. This role will be running these validation tests, analyzing the data, and authoring post test summaries.Work environmentLab work environment. Collaboration with employees in other parts of the building is typical. Collaboration virtually with other parts of the world also common.SkillsDemonstrated passion for SAFETY.Demonstrated attention to detail, observation skills.Demonstrated ability to Analyze Data effectively.Additional Technical Skills(Required)At least 2-7 years of previous relevant hardware testing experience. Someone with only software testing experience will NOT be considered.(Desired)Demonstrated ability to ensure test data quality expectations are met and documented appropriately.Soft Skills(Required)Ability to communicate well with engineering peers to acquire critical information needed to successfully execute the power conversion validation testing.
