Job Description

A leading engineering organization is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the design and execution of large-scale industrial and infrastructure projects. This role provides mechanical engineering leadership across critical water, wastewater, and utility systems that support complex facilities and operations.The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead mechanical design efforts from concept through construction and commissioning, working closely with cross-functional engineering teams, vendors, and construction partners. This position reports to the Engineering Manager and serves as a key technical resource responsible for the quality and delivery of mechanical design packages on complex projects.Key ResponsibilitiesLead mechanical engineering design development for new and existing industrial facilities, including water treatment, wastewater systems, and utility infrastructureDevelop, review, and approve mechanical layouts and equipment arrangement drawingsProduce and review piping design packages, including piping layouts, isometrics, and specificationsLead equipment selection and prepare technical data sheets for pumps, valves, blowers, tanks, filters, heat exchangers, skids, and related systemsDefine mechanical design criteria, material selection, and corrosion allowancesProvide technical oversight during procurement, vendor evaluation, fabrication, installation, and commissioningCollaborate with process, electrical, instrumentation, civil, and structural teams to ensure coordinated and constructible designsSupport project execution through design reviews, field support, and resolution of technical issuesContribute to project schedules, quality control, and engineering deliverablesRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related disciplineEight or more years of mechanical engineering experience in industrial, manufacturing, or EPC project environmentsExperience designing mechanical systems for water and wastewater treatment facilitiesFamiliarity with complex facility or infrastructure projectsStrong knowledge of applicable mechanical codes, standards, and industry best practicesProven ability to serve as a technical lead within a multidisciplinary engineering team
