As the company enters its next phase of growth, there is a opportunity to build the structure and operational foundation needed to scale while preserving its culture and identity.Position OverviewThe Chief Operating Officer (COO) will serve as the operational leader of Ideal Millwork, responsible for driving execution across all areas of the business following the point of sale.This individual will oversee day-to-day operations end-to-end, including production, project execution, team leadership, systems development, and organizational structure.The COO will report directly to the Founder & CEO and partner closely with the Fractional CFO to ensure operational alignment with financial goals.Key ResponsibilitiesCulture & People LeadershipBuild and lead a connected, accountable, and high-performing team across both field and office environmentsBridge the gap between shop operations and office functions to create a unified cultureLead, develop, and hold accountable team members across operations, logistics, and administrative functionsIdentify organizational gaps and drive hiring of key roles as the business scalesImplement and manage performance management processes, including goal setting, feedback, and accountabilityDesign and execute training programs to support team development and consistencyOperations & ProductionOwn daily business operations, including production timelines, project scheduling, installation coordination, and delivery executionDevelop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all major operational functionsEnsure seamless handoff from sales to operations, maintaining a high-quality customer experience post-saleImprove cross-functional communication between estimating, production, and project execution teamsEstablish and track key operational KPIs to drive accountability and performanceOrganizational Structure & ProcessDesign and implement a clear organizational structure with defined roles, responsibilities, and reporting linesDevelop job descriptions and accountability frameworks across the organizationIdentify inefficiencies and implement process improvements to increase operational effectivenessPartner with the Fractional CFO on budgeting, cost control, and financial visibilityOversee and optimize use of core systems (NetSuite, Gusto), ensuring data accuracy and adoptionStrategic Partnership to FounderServe as a trusted partner to the Founder & CEO, enabling a shift in focus toward growth, sales, and strategic relationshipsTranslate strategic goals into operational execution plansProvide proactive solutions and operational insights to leadershipEscalate issues appropriately while maintaining ownership of day-to-day operationsSuccess in This RoleWithin the first 6-12 months, the COO will:Establish a clear organizational structure with defined ownership and accountabilityImplement SOPs across core operational functionsBuild and launch a consistent performance management frameworkImprove alignment and communication between field and office teamsDevelop and implement training programs across rolesEstablish KPI tracking and reporting cadences for operational visibilityHire and onboard key leadership roles within operationsEnable the Founder & CEO to focus primarily on growth and strategic initiativesWho You AreYou are a builder and operator who thrives in dynamic, growing environments.
