We are committed to technical excellence, sustainable design, and collaborative project delivery.We are seeking a motivated and experienced Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineer to join our Boston team and support the design and delivery of complex building projects throughout the state.Position SummaryThe Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineer will be responsible for the design, coordination, and documentation of plumbing and fire protection systems for a variety of building types. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, experience working within multidisciplinary teams, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced consulting environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign plumbing systems including domestic water, sanitary waste and vent, storm drainage, natural gas, and specialty piping systems(Training can be provided) Design fire protection systems including wet pipe, dry pipe, standpipe, and pre-action systems in accordance with applicable codes and standardsPrepare engineering calculations, reports, specifications, and construction documentsCoordinate with architects, structural engineers, mechanical/electrical engineers, and external consultantsParticipate in project meetings, site visits, and construction administration activitiesPerform code analysis and ensure compliance with local, state, and national codes including NFPA, IBC, IPC, and Massachusetts amendmentsSupport BIM/Revit modeling and interdisciplinary coordination effortsReview shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals during construction phasesAssist with project scheduling, budgeting, and technical quality controlMentor junior engineers and designers as neededQualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field5+ years of experience in plumbing and fire protection engineering within an A/E consulting environmentProfessional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain within 12 monthsStrong knowledge of NFPA standards, IPC, IBC, and Massachusetts building codesExperience with Revit and AutoCAD requiredFamiliarity with hydraulic calculation software and plumbing sizing programsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively within project teamsPreferred ExperienceHealthcare, laboratory, life sciences, higher education, or commercial high-rise project experienceLEED accreditation or sustainable design experienceExperience coordinating with contractors and commissioning teamsFamiliarity with BIM 360 and cloud-based project collaboration toolsWhat We Offer$100,00-$140,000 Competitive salary and performance bonus opportunitiesComprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company contributionHybrid work flexibilityProfessional development and licensing supportCollaborative and growth-oriented work environmentOpportunity to work on impactful and technically challenging projectsEqual Opportunity EmployerWe are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity in the workplace.
