Why This Role MattersJoin Per-Geesh Construction in supporting the National Institutes of Health (NIH). As a Maintenance Electrician, you'll ensure reliable lighting and emergency power systems across a large, complex healthcare and research campus"”directly contributing to patient safety and public health research.What You'll DoRespond to lighting and electrical work orders:Replace lamps, bulbs, ballasts, and fixtures (indoor/outdoor).Troubleshoot minor electrical issues.Perform inspection and testing:Monthly ITM for Clinical Center emergency lights.Annual ITM for non-Clinical Center egress systems.Record updates, status, and photos in IWMS (Nuvolo).Flag out-of-scope issues (major faults, upstream power) for escalation.Follow all NIH safety protocols (LOTO, PPE, NFPA 70E).What We're Looking ForJourneyman Electrician license (or equivalent state certification).3-5 years in commercial/institutional facility maintenance.Comfortable with routine inspections and compliance documentation.Familiarity with work order systems (Nuvolo/IWMS preferred).OSHA 10 (or willingness to complete).Must pass Public Trust background and NIH badging.Preferred:Experience in hospital, research, or federal facilities.Knowledge of EM 385-1-1 safety requirements.OSHA 30, EM 385-1-1, or USACE QCM certifications.Physical RequirementsLift up to 50 lbs; climb ladders; work in restrooms, stairwells, mechanical spaces, and outdoors.Comfortable in varying conditions with hand/power tools.What We OfferCompetitive pay with steady FTE hours.Health, dental, vision insurance.Paid federal holidays & PTO.Safety and professional development training.Work at one of the nation's most prestigious research campuses.
