Job title: Director of Revenue Cycle ManagementLocation: Charlotte, NCDuration: Full timeJob description:The Director of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) is responsible for the overall financial performance, strategy, and daily operations of the revenue cycle, encompassing multiple dermatology and plastic surgery locations. This key leadership role oversees patient access, charge capture, billing, coding (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS), surgical billing, cosmetic services billing, accounts receivable (A/R), and payer relations. The goal is to maximize reimbursement, accelerate cash flow, minimize bad debt, and ensure strict compliance with federal and state regulations, particularly regarding the mix of medical and elective aesthetic procedures.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement RCM strategies to optimize revenue capture and reduce claim denials across all practice locations.Operational Oversight: Manage the full revenue cycle, including front-end (registration, verification, authorization) and back-end (billing, AR, collections) processes.Dermatology/Plastic Surgery Specialization: Oversee specialized billing workflows, including Mohs surgery global periods, complex modifiers, and bundled services in plastics.Cosmetic/Medical Hybrid Model: Manage the distinct payment workflows between medical insurance billing and patient-financed esthetician services.Denial Management & AR Aging: Actively monitor denial trends and aged accounts, implementing corrective actions to improve net collection rates.KPI Reporting: Develop and present comprehensive monthly RCM performance reports, dashboards, and KPI analysis to executive leadership and physician partnersTeam Leadership: Lead, train, and mentor the billing, coding, and front-desk registration teams to maintain high standards of accuracy and performance.Compliance & Audit: Ensure compliance with HIPAA and payer regulations; oversee annual audits of billing and coding procedures.Vendor Relations: Act as the primary liaison with EMR/Practice Management systems (ModMed), clearinghouses, and external collection agencies.Champion technological improvements to improve performance and reduce cost to collectQualifications:Education: Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, or related field requiredExperience: Minimum 7-10 years of progressive experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.Specialty Knowledge: Strong understanding of Dermatology and/or Plastic Surgery billing requirements, including Mohs surgery and high-volume elective/med-spa services.Technical Proficiency: Extensive experience with EMR systems (ModMed preferred) and RCM analytics tools.Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage large, multi-site teams and foster a collaborative, high-performing culture.Coding credential (CPC) preferred
