National Sales RepresentativeLocation: Houston, TX (National Territory)Job Type: Full-TimePosition OverviewOur client is seeking a highly driven National Sales Representative to develop and grow a multi-state territory. This role is responsible for building a strong book of business, expanding market share, and developing long-term customer partnerships within the steel and broader industrial distribution market.Based in Houston, this position requires regular travel throughout the assigned territory. The ideal candidate is competitive, relationship-focused, and comfortable negotiating in a fast-moving, market-driven environment.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild and grow a book of business through warm leads, cold outreach, referrals, and in-person visitsDevelop and maintain strong relationships with purchasing managers, executives, and key decision-makersGain deep understanding of customer operations, product applications, and supply chain needsProspect and open new accounts within assigned territoryNegotiate pricing and contracts aligned with market conditions and margin objectivesMonitor market trends, competitive activity, and industry pricingPartner with inside sales and operations to ensure accurate order executionCoordinate with internal departments including credit, purchasing, production, and logisticsProactively monitor order status and resolve delivery or quality issuesMaintain CRM records and manage pipeline reportingTravel regularly within assigned regionQualificationsBachelor's degree required3+ years of B2B sales experience preferredExperience in steel, metals, or an industrial distribution environment strongly preferredStrong negotiation skills and sound commercial judgmentAbility to manage multiple accounts and prioritize effectivelyExcellent communication and relationship-building skillsSelf-motivated with strong prospecting and territory development abilityComfortable working in a competitive, fast-paced marketCompensationCompetitive base salaryPerformance-based monthly and annual bonusesNew account incentivesStrong long-term earning potential tied to growthClear opportunity for career advancementBenefits401(k) with company matchHealth insurancePaid time offScheduleMonday - FridayTravel required
