Lead Harnessing Engineer - Lunar Mobility & Spaceflight SystemsWe are supporting a pioneering space robotics company developing advanced lunar vehicles, autonomous systems, and spaceflight technologies designed to support humanity's long-term presence beyond Earth.As part of continued growth, they are seeking a Lead Harnessing Engineer to take ownership of electrical wiring interconnect systems (EWIS) across flight hardware, prototype systems, and ground support equipment. This is a highly visible technical leadership role supporting cutting-edge lunar mobility and spaceflight programs in a fast-paced, startup-style environment.The RoleYou will lead the architecture, design, integration, and validation of complex harnessing systems for spaceflight applications, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver reliable, high-performance electrical interconnect solutions for both robotic and human-rated missions.This position will play a critical role across vehicle integration, flight readiness, and long-duration lunar surface operations.Key ResponsibilitiesLead electrical harnessing architecture, design, and integration activities across vehicle and subsystem levelsOwn end-to-end EWIS development including schematics, harness layouts, wire lists, pinouts, routing, and technical documentationDefine harnessing solutions for high-voltage, high-power, and signal-level systems operating in spaceflight and lunar surface environmentsConduct trade studies related to connectors, wire selection, shielding, grounding, routing, and system protectionCollaborate closely with mechanical, avionics, and systems engineering teams to support packaging, integration, and vehicle-level interfacesSupport harness fabrication, inspection, integration, troubleshooting, and test activities including continuity and EMI/EMC validationEnsure compliance with NASA and aerospace wiring standards and support design reviews, qualification, and flight readiness activitiesProvide technical leadership and mentorship across the harnessing and electrical integration teamRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline8+ years of experience within aerospace electrical harnessing, EWIS, or complex electrical integrationProven experience leading harness design for spacecraft, aerospace, or other high-reliability systemsStrong understanding of power distribution, grounding, shielding, signal integrity, and electrical integration principlesExperience with high-voltage or high-power electrical systemsFamiliarity with NASA and aerospace wiring/workmanship standardsUnderstanding of mechanical integration considerations including packaging, thermal, vibration, and structural interfacesStrong communication skills with the ability to lead technical efforts in fast-paced development environmentsPreferred ExperiencePrevious experience supporting NASA programs, spaceflight hardware, or lunar exploration missionsFamiliarity with Artemis, ISS, Commercial Crew, or related programsExperience with EMI/EMC mitigation and electrical bondingExperience using electrical design and CAD tools such as Altium, SolidWorks, Zuken, or equivalentBackground in harness manufacturing, supplier management, and qualification testingPrior startup or commercial space experienceWhy Apply?This is an opportunity to work on real lunar missions and contribute directly to the future of planetary mobility, robotics, and sustained space exploration.You'll be joining a team building next-generation systems designed to operate in some of the harshest environments imaginable, helping shape the future of humanity's presence on the Moon and beyond.
