Position: Lead Data Engineer / Project DeliveryLocation: Atlanta, GA (Midtown)Length: Contract to HireWe are seeking a Lead Data Engineer for our client's growing team to drive enterprise data initiatives and lead the design, delivery, and optimization of modern data platforms and analytics solutions. This role is ideal for someone who combines deep technical expertise with strong project leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, enterprise data architecture, AI-driven innovation, and modern data engineering practices. This person will lead data delivery efforts, partner with business and technology teams, and help shape scalable data solutions that support analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives across the organization.ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end delivery of enterprise data engineering and analytics projects from requirements gathering through implementation and production supportDesign, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, and enterprise data solutionsArchitect and manage data models supporting reporting, analytics, and AI/ML use casesDrive adoption and optimization of Microsoft Fabric capabilities including data integration, lakehouse architecture, and analytics solutionsDevelop and support Power BI dashboards, semantic models, and enterprise reporting solutionsPartner with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to translate business requirements into scalable data solutionsProvide project leadership including delivery planning, prioritization, risk management, and coordination across cross-functional teamsIdentify opportunities for AI innovation, automation, predictive analytics, and intelligent data solutionsEstablish and promote best practices for data governance, data quality, performance optimization, and scalabilityMentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers while serving as a technical leader within the organizationCollaborate within Agile delivery environments and participate in sprint planning, estimations, and roadmap discussionsRequired Qualifications7+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, or Analytics EngineeringExperience leading enterprise-scale data projects and delivery initiativesStrong hands-on experience with Microsoft FabricAdvanced experience with Power BI including dashboards, semantic models, DAX, and reporting solutionsExperience designing and building complex data pipelines and ETL/ELT solutionsStrong experience with data modeling, dimensional modeling, and data architecture principlesExperience working with cloud-based data platforms and modern analytics ecosystemsStrong SQL skills and experience optimizing large datasets and data transformationsExperience collaborating with stakeholders, gathering requirements, and managing project deliverablesStrong understanding of Agile methodologies and SDLC processesExcellent communication, leadership, and organizational skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience with AI/ML initiatives, AI-enabled analytics, or data-driven automationExperience with Azure data services and cloud-native architecturesExperience with Python, Spark, or modern data engineering frameworksBackground leading cross-functional technical teams or mentoring engineersExperience in enterprise environments supporting large-scale analytics initiativesWhat We're Looking ForA technical leader who can balance hands-on engineering with project leadership and delivery ownershipSomeone who thrives in collaborative environments and can communicate effectively with both technical and business teamsA strategic thinker who can identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement within the data ecosystemA proactive problem solver with strong attention to scalability, performance, and business impactAbout GSquared GroupShouldn't your recruiting partner put as much effort and value into your career as you do?
