Accounts Payable Accountant

A local distribution and manufacturing company is seeking an Accounts Payable Accountant to support full-cycle A/P operations, reconciliations, month-end close, and general accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, ERP system experience, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while supporting process improvements and financial reporting.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess, review, and code vendor invoices for accuracy and appropriate approval prior to payment.Prepare and process check runs and electronic payments in a timely manner.Perform invoice and general ledger data entry.Reconcile vendor statements, statements of account, and sub-ledgers to the general ledger.Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations, including prepaid and payroll accounts.Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries and supporting schedules.Process employee expense reports and resolve payables-related discrepancies.Support internal and external audit requests.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.Internship experience or 1-3 years of experience in Accounts Payable, or general accounting preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAVISION or similar ERP systems.Understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
