Senior GNC Software Engineer - Sensors & Autonomous NavigationWe are supporting a pioneering space robotics company developing next-generation lunar mobility and autonomous systems designed to support humanity's long-term presence beyond Earth.As part of continued growth, they are seeking a Senior GNC Software Engineer - Sensors to lead development of advanced sensing and perception systems for autonomous lunar rover operations.The RoleYou will lead the Sensor Team, driving the design, integration, and optimization of sensing architectures that enable autonomous navigation and control in complex lunar environments.Working at the intersection of robotics, autonomy, and space exploration, you'll collaborate closely with systems, software, mechanical, electrical, and GNC teams to develop mission-critical technologies for future lunar missions.Key ResponsibilitiesLead development of sensing architectures for autonomous lunar mobility systemsOwn sensor integration activities including data pipelines, drivers, calibration, and sensor fusionSupport integration with localization, mapping, navigation, and planning systemsEvaluate sensor performance through simulation, hardware integration, and field testingCollaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams to optimize rover sensing capabilitiesSupport hardware bring-up, vendor coordination, and component selectionMentor engineers and help drive technical excellence across the sensor and autonomy teamsRequired BackgroundBachelor's degree in Robotics, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or related field5+ years of experience within autonomous systems, robotics, or sensor integrationExperience with sensing technologies such as LiDAR, radar, cameras, IMUs, or similar systemsStrong understanding of sensor fusion, calibration, timing synchronization, and coordinate transformationsExperience with embedded systems, ROS, cFS, or similar middleware environmentsStrong communication and technical leadership skillsUS Person status requiredPreferred ExperienceAdvanced degree related to robotics, sensing, autonomy, or perception systemsExperience with SLAM, real-time perception, or autonomous navigation algorithmsFamiliarity with aerospace, spaceflight, or safety-critical systemsExperience with EKF, factor graphs, or advanced sensor fusion techniquesWhy Apply?This is an opportunity to help develop the autonomous technologies that will power the future of lunar exploration and planetary mobility.You'll be working on real mission hardware in a fast-paced environment alongside teams solving some of the most challenging problems in robotics and space exploration.
