Workday HCM DirectorPermanent / Direct Hire | Dallas, TX (Hybrid)This is not your typical Workday leadership role!Our client, a well-established leader in the Commercial Real Estate industry, is in the middle of a major HR technology transformation moving from UKG to Workday with a target go-live of January 2027. They are seeking a hands-on Workday HCM Director who can step in and take true ownership of the platform while helping lead a complex enterprise-wide transformation.This is a rare blend of leadership and execution. You will serve as the primary Workday authority in an organization that does not currently have internal Workday expertise, meaning you will directly shape how the system is configured, adopted, and scaled across the business.If you want a role where you can lead, build, coach, and stay close to the system, this is a strong fit!What You Will Own:Full ownership of the Workday HCM platform across the organizationLeadership and development of a growing Workday team (currently 2 direct reports)Hands-on configuration and design across core HCM functionalityOwnership of annual HR cycles including benefits, open enrollment, performance, compensation, and recruitingSystem testing, deployments, and enterprise-wide rolloutsClose partnership with IT on integrations while owning HCM design and impactTranslation of HR business needs into scalable Workday solutionsSupport and enablement of HR stakeholders through transformation and changeWhat You Need to Bring:5+ years of deep Workday HCM experience with strong configuration expertiseProven experience leading or supporting a full HRIS or Workday implementation or transformationStrong HR background with hands-on exposure to core HR processes and annual cyclesExperience in a player-coach capacity (leading while still building in the system)Strong knowledge of Workday HCM modules including Recruiting, Advanced Compensation, Performance, Payroll, and Time and AttendanceAbility to partner across HR, IT, and Finance while keeping HR as the primary lensMust be authorized to work in the US without sponsorshipWhat Will Set You Apart:Exposure to Workday FinancialsUKG experienceStrong understanding of integrations and data flow between systemsExperience supporting multi-state HR environmentsPrior leadership in HRIS transformation programsCulture Snapshot:Highly collaborative, relationship-driven environment with a "small town" feel despite a multi-state footprintThe team values partnership, transparency, and knowledge sharing over silos or gatekeeping.
