Optify Search are currently partnered with an innovative global manufacturer searching for a Principal Level Mechanical Design Engineer to be the technical design lead of PECVD reactor equipment in High-Vacuum for an innovative Semiconductor company based in San Francisco. Key Responsibilities:Lead and mentor engineers while driving projects that span multiple company departmentsOversee manufacturing of machined components and transition designs from R&D to production, balancing performance and costDesign and develop advanced reactor systems and components, applying expertise in machine design, mechanics, thermals, and fluidsPerform analytical and numerical analysis to evaluate and validate designsManage prototyping, documentation, and fabrication, working closely with machine shops and vendorsTroubleshoot and optimise existing reactor hardware to improve productivity, yield, and reliabilityKey Requirements:10+ years of experience in mechanical design; advanced degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering preferredExpert-level experience designing high-vacuum systems; background in semiconductor tools, accelerators, or vacuum electronicsStrong proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks) and PLM systems (Teamcenter)Extensive knowledge of manufacturing methods with hands-on machining experienceExperience designing electromechanical systemsHands-on, creative, and problem-solving mindset with proven leadership capabilityThis role offers a competitive salary, with a great compensation package, and a strong progression pathway.Please submit your CV/resume if you have the requisite skills as outlined above and are a highly competitive individual with excellent communication skills.
