Candidates must already be authorized to work in the U.S.Salary Range$70,000 - $80,000 (final offer within this range will depend on experience and qualificationsLocationCharlotte, NC (Onsite) Employment TypeFull-TimeReports ToDirector of EngineeringRole NoteThis role is designed for a strong generalist software engineer who is confident across our stack and energized by understanding production systems end-to-end. The Associate Platform Engineer is a foundational hire on our growing Platform Engineering team. Our stack centers on Python services running on AWS - primarily Lambda, S3, SQS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, and EC2 - with CloudFormation for infrastructure-as-code and CloudWatch for observability. We use DynamoDB heavily and SQL/RDS only occasionally. On the frontend, we build with React, TypeScript, Next.js, and Tailwind CSS. Success in this role requires genuine confidence across these AWS components - navigating the console, reading CloudWatch logs, inspecting DynamoDB records, and tracing requests through our serverless infrastructure. Equally important: the instinct to drop into an unfamiliar codebase, identify where a problem lives, and ship a clean fix. Operational fluency in AWS and codebase-diving instinct are the non-negotiables for this role. You will work alongside our Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) and Deployment Strategy team - supporting existing client deployments, building the documentation and operational playbooks that allow our support function to scale, contributing engineering capacity to active deployments, and helping ship internal product. This is a client-facing role: you will be introduced to clients as the technical resource supporting their deployment, and communicate with them directly when issues arise. Over time, this role grows into senior platform engineering positions, with possible lateral movement into our Forward Deployed Engineering track based on demonstrated fit. This is not a support-only role. Client support is priority-one when it arises but represents only a portion of any given week. The majority of your time will go to documentation systems, engineering capacity on active deployments, and internal product. Candidates looking for a traditional help-desk or ticket-queue role will not be a fit.About EranovaEranova's platform automates enterprise workflows through AI agents, unlocking value that traditional software couldn't reach.
