Join the SCORE team and help us continue our mission to support the next generation of athletes!About the RoleScore Sports is seeking a detail-oriented, hands-on, and proactive Accounting Manager to oversee the company's daily accounting operations and support the continued growth of the organization. This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing the monthly close process, supporting financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with strong technical accounting knowledge, experience in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to partner cross-functionally with departments across the business. NOTE: This is an on-site position in Irvine, CAResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, fixed assets, and bank reconciliationsLead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reportingPrepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedulesOversee tax compliance and filings (sales tax, use tax, property tax, income tax support)Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and financial proceduresPoint person for the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting packagesCoordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other third-party service providers during audits and annual filingsSupport budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management activitiesEnsure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulationsAnalyze financial data and provide insights to support operational and strategic decision-makingPartner with operations, sales, inventory, and supply chain teams to improve financial accuracy and processesSupervise and mentor accounting staff while fostering a collaborative and accountable team environmentReview and approve account reconciliations and enforce reconciliation standardsLead ERP system maintenance, reporting enhancements, and process improvement initiatives and internal controlsSupport special projects and other finance-related initiatives as assignedQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required5+ years of progressive accounting experience requiredPrevious management or supervisory experience preferredStrong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principlesExperience in manufacturing, distribution, consumer products, or apparel industries preferredProficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems requiredStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsCPA designation preferred but not requiredStrong organizational and time management skillsAbility to handle confidential information with discretionStrong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer service mindsetExperience in a Private Equity-backed environmentSpanish language skills highly desirablePay range and compensation packageScore Sports offers competitive pay and benefits. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance and 401K. Base salary range is $90,000 - $110,000, depending on experience. Note: this is an on-site position in Irvine, CA.
