Job Title: Manufacturing Quality EngineerLocation: Placentia, CA | OnsiteEmployment Type: Temp-to-HireSchedule: Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Must be available to work overtime as needed)Compensation: $70,000 - $75,000 annuallyJob Summary:The Manufacturing Quality Engineer supports quality operations by coordinating customer returns, validating return reasons, and supporting corrective action activities related to returned products. This role is responsible for reviewing and approving product routings, quality plans, and inspection plans to help ensure manufacturing and quality requirements are met. The position also coordinates AS9102 first article inspection activities, including determining FAI requirements, preparing inspection documentation, and reviewing FAIR submissions to support compliance and overall product quality.Key Responsibilities:Review manufacturing planning for incorporation of inspection and test points and determine special gauging requirements for manufactured productsDetermine FAIR requirements in accordance with AS9102, including identifying requirements, creating templates, reviewing and approving FAIR documentation, and maintaining recordsFacilitate customer returns, including validating return reasons, coordinating receiving inspections, creating work orders, and providing customer follow-up supportSupport contract reviews for new orders as neededPerform trend analysis on product issues and corrective actions related to product returnsPerform additional duties and responsibilities as assignedQualificationsRequired:Bachelor's degree (or equivalent practical industry experience) in Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline1-5 years of experience in Quality Assurance and/or Quality ControlStrong written and verbal communication skillsExperience with mechanical and/or automated inspection techniquesThorough understanding of quality systems and problem-solving methodologiesStrong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office programsAbility to interpret technical requirements, including drawings and standards, and apply them within quality systems and manufacturing processesAbility to problem-solve and effectively manage a variety of issuesExcellent communication and time management skillsAbility to work effectively both independently and within a team environmentWork Environment & Physical Requirements:Regularly required to stand and use hands and fingers to handle, operate, or feel objects, tools, and controlsAbility to walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach with hands and arms, and climb or maintain balance as neededRegularly required to communicate verbally with staff and effectively understand responsesOccasional travel by road and/or air may be required to support client, vendor, and subcontractor needsOccasionally required to lift and move equipment weighing 30+ pounds, including overhead lifting, bending, prolonged standing, and twistingThis position may alternate between sedentary and active responsibilities to support coordination and follow-up with various departments
