Job Title : Structural Designer (Exp in heavy industrial/power generation facilities prefer)Job Description : seeking a Structural Designer to collect laser scans, performing inspections of various structures, writing reports, working with engineering team to ensure company structural assets remain operation and safe and 3 d modeling and 2 drawing extraction. Laser scan data collection and registration using tripod mounted laser scanner to support structural engineer and designer staffPerform site inspections and walkdowns of concrete and steel industrial structures, classify findings and write thorough and complete inspection reports in a timely mannerWrite scope and estimate time to perform for various structural inspection activitiesCollaborate with engineering staff to identify and document noncompliant structural and safety items Create 3D models and extract 2D drawings to support engineering product deliverables or attachments to inspection reportsProficiency with creating AutoCAD steel and concrete drawings for industrial or commercial projectsPrepare layouts, general arrangement drawings and conceptual designs Prepare material takeoffs and assist with cost estimatesCoordinate work with other disciplines, clients, suppliers, contractors and construction personnelEDUCATION & JOB EXPERIENCE Minimum of 5 years of experience in performing site walkdowns and writing reportsMinimum of 5 years of designing/detailing (concrete/steel) heavy industrial/power generation facilities is a plusHigh school graduate or equivalent is requiredAdditional technical training or experience in OSHA, MSHA or structural inspections is preferredWriting technical reports of site walkdown and inspection findings using Microsoft WordExperience entering and maintaining findings in databases for retrieval of data at later dateKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES':Experience in laser scanning data collection techniques and registrationExperience in inspecting structures and/or material handling machinery for damage, deterioration, serviceability, hazard potential, and safety complianceTechnical proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, Navisworks, Advance Steel, and FARO SCENE 2023-2025 (or similar), Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and ExcelPerform structural inspections at extreme heights, man baskets, etcExperience with site safety requirements including but not limited to the use of PPE, fall protection, confined space procedures, respirator, etc.Construction and/or fabrication background preferredEffective implementation of MSHA and OSHA safety standardsKnowledge of structural steel and concrete drawing productionProficient with applicable structural design codes and standards, as well as federal, state and regulatory requirementsAbility to communicate at all levels and all design disciplines Excellent technical writing and oral communication skillsHigh level of initiative and a strong motivator with excellent interpersonal skillsSelf-starter with good organization skills and ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously
