Senior Manager - Procurement Operations and Technology PracticeLocation: Chicago, ILJob DescriptionA growing Digital Procurement Practice is seeking a select number of senior leaders to help clients modernize, optimize, and future-proof their procurement organizations.High-performing procurement functions are powered by the right combination of technology, intelligent processes, and operating models. The practice partners with clients at every stage of their digital journey, from early strategy through optimization of existing solutions.The team acts as a trusted, technology-agnostic advisor rather than a systems integrator. The focus is on helping clients define the right path, select appropriate technologies, and maximize value from implementations, regardless of the delivery partner.This is a client-facing leadership role for individuals with deep subject matter expertise, strong consulting capabilities, and the ability to guide complex digital transformation programs.What We DoSupport across the full digital procurement lifecycle, including:Digital procurement strategyTechnology selectionImplementation optimizationOptimization and remediationJob ResponsibilitiesAdvise clients on procurement technology implementations, with hands-on experience across leading Source-to-Pay (S2P) platformsIdentify implementation risks, design pitfalls, and change challenges using prior program experienceSupport optimization and stabilization of existing procurement systemsCollaborate effectively with technical and data teams without requiring deep technical specializationUnderstand how procurement data is captured, governed, and used for insightsTranslate business requirements into practical technology and data solutions while recognizing system limitationsAssess current procurement processes and operating modelsDesign future-state processes that are efficient, scalable, and aligned with business goalsBalance standardization with flexibility to meet diverse stakeholder needsAddress critical non-technology enablers such as governance, policy, organizational design, and people capabilitiesSupport change management initiatives to drive adoption and long-term successAct as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholdersLead workstreams or full engagements, managing scope, quality, and expectationsCoach and mentor junior team members and client resourcesContribute to practice development through thought leadership and knowledge sharingStrengthen client relationships and identify additional opportunitiesParticipate in business development, proposals, and client presentationsBuild market presence through insight-led conversationsBasic QualificationsBachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) from an accredited institution, or equivalent professional experienceMinimum of 6 years of relevant work experiencePreferred Qualifications6-10 years of consulting experience in procurement and/or supply chain, including S2P implementationsProven track record of leading client engagements end-to-endExperience in client relationship expansion and/or business developmentStrong analytical and problem-solving skills in client-facing environmentsDemonstrated ability to coach and develop team membersStrong communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas to executive audiencesProficiency in PowerPoint and Excel within a consulting context
