Solar Civil Estimator / Assistant Project ManagerThe Solar Civil Estimator / Assistant Project Manager supports the planning, estimating, and execution of solar energy construction projects, with a primary focus on civil scopes including site preparation, grading, drainage, access roads, and erosion control. This role bridges preconstruction and field operations to ensure accurate project costing and successful project delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesEstimating & PreconstructionPrepare detailed quantity takeoffs for civil scopes including earthwork, access roads, stormwater systems, and site improvementsDevelop cost estimates, budgets, and bid proposals for solar projectsAnalyze plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, and survey data to identify risks and opportunitiesSolicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricingAssist in value engineering efforts to optimize cost and constructabilitySupport change order pricing and cost tracking throughout the project lifecycleProject Management SupportAssist Project Manager with scheduling, budgeting, and cost controlTrack production quantities and compare against estimate and budgetCoordinate with field teams, subcontractors, and vendors to support project executionHelp manage RFIs, submittals, and project documentationMonitor project progress and assist with forecasting and reportingSupport turnover packages, as-builts, and closeout documentationField & CoordinationInterface with civil crews, survey teams, and engineers to ensure alignment with design and scheduleReview grading plans and sequencing to support efficient construction flowAssist in resolving field issues related to design conflicts or site conditionsEnsure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standardsQualifications5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction, solar construction, Civil PE preferredĀ or related fieldStrong knowledge of earthwork, grading, drainage, and site developmentExperience with takeoff and estimating software (e.g., Agtek, HCSS, Bluebeam)Proficiency in reading civil drawings and specificationsFamiliarity with scheduling tools (Primavera P6, MS Project) preferredStrong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsPreferred ExperienceUtility-scale solar project experienceKnowledge of erosion control and SWPPP requirementsExperience with cost tracking and change order managementKey SkillsQuantity takeoffs and cost estimatingBudgeting and cost controlConstruction sequencing and logisticsContract and subcontractor managementCommunication and coordination across teamsPLEASE SUBMIT YOUR RESUME TO: resumes@
