Woodcrest School, a K-8 program, seeks a full time innovative, dynamic, and forward-thinking educator to serve as our Technology (K - 6) & Robotics Teacher (3 - 6) and Middle School Robotics Team Coach. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate leader to revamp and elevate our overall technology program, expand our 3-5 robotics VEX-IQ offerings, and continue the strong competitive tradition of our highly successful middle school VEX-V5 program.We are looking for someone who not only teaches technology, but inspires creativity, engineering thinking, and problem-solving at every grade level.Position OverviewElementary Technology & Robotics (Grades K-5)The ideal candidate will design and lead a comprehensive, developmentally appropriate technology curriculum that integrates:Coding and computational thinkingRobotics and engineering designDigital literacy and responsible technology useInnovation and project-based learningCross-curricular integration with math, science, and moreThis role includes building and growing a structured robotics pathway for grades 3-5 that feeds into our competitive middle school program.Middle School Robotics Coach (Competitive VEX-V5 Program)Our middle school robotics teams compete at a high level in the VEX-V5 Robotics Competition.The coach will:Lead and mentor competitive teamsGuide students in advanced design, engineering, coding, and strategyPrepare teams for regional and state competitionsSustain and elevate a tradition of excellenceThe ideal candidate thrives in competitive environments while fostering teamwork, resilience, and leadership in students.Key ResponsibilitiesProgram DevelopmentAudit, redesign, and implement a cohesive K-8 technology visionDevelop a vertically aligned robotics curriculum (Grades 3-8)Expand student participation in roboticsMaintain and manage robotics equipment, materials, and technology resourcesInstruction & CoachingTeach engaging, hands-on technology classes for elementary studentsCoach and supervise middle school robotics teamsProvide after-school robotics programmingDifferentiate instruction to meet varied skill levelsFoster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and creative problem-solvingCompetition LeadershipRegister and manage competition logisticsMentor students in engineering notebooks, documentation, and presentationsPrepare teams for tournaments and championship-level performanceCommunicate effectively with families about expectations and eventsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Education, Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or related field.Experience teaching technology and/or robotics in an elementary or middle school settingExperience coaching competitive robotics (VEX-IQ and VEX-V5 experience preferred)Knowledge of engineering design process and project-based learningExperience with robotics platforms (VEX, LEGO, etc.)Excellent classroom management and team-building skillsAbility to inspire students across a range of ages and abilitiesStrong organizational and communication skillsAt Woodcrest School, students receive a superior academic foundation, with enrichment in leadership and communication skills, strength of character and social responsibility.
