Job Description

We are hiring a Flow Cytometry Specialist to help systematically map residues governing disease-relevant phenotypes through operation and management of our sorting core. This position represents an excellent opportunity to join a cutting-edge genetic editing research team at the frontier of human immunology in a dynamic, rapidly evolving research environment.This is a 6-month contract based in San Francisco, California. ResponsibilitiesPerform flow cytometry and fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS) of primary human cells.Implement and optimize standard operating procedures (SOPs) for start-up, shutdown, and routine maintenance of three BD FACSAria Fusion sorters.Coordinate user operations across multiple projects and research teams.Manage sorting logistics and track sort progress and cell acquisition totals in Notion for ongoing multi-day screening campaigns.Oversee inventory of FACS reagents, equipment maintenance and service requests, and training of new users.Collaborate closely with cross-functional scientific teams to meet tight timelines while generating large-scale maps of genomic sites impacting immune cell function.QualificationsBS with 2-4 years of relevant experience or MS with 0-2 years of relevant experience,Strong experience in multicolor flow cytometry and FACS operation, including panel design, gating, compensation, technical troubleshooting, and data analysis using FlowJo.Experience with full scope of start-up, shutdown, technical troubleshooting, and routine maintenance of FACS instruments.Experience with Notion is a plus.Experience with BD FACSAria Fusion is preferred; experience with other sorters, including BD, Sony, or Cytek instruments, will also be considered.Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn new methods and adapt to evolving research priorities.Ability to maintain detailed and organized records of experimental protocols and results.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a research team.Strong prioritization and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.Self-motivated and proactive, with the flexibility to take on diverse responsibilities in a dynamic startup environment.Pay$35.00-$40.00/hrWhy Choose R&D Partners?As an employee, you have access to a comprehensive benefits package including:Medical insurance - PPO, HMO & HSADental & Vision insurance401k planEmployee Assistance ProgramLong-term disabilityWeekly payrollExpense reimbursementOnline timecard approvalR&D Partners is a global functional service provider and strategic staffing resource specializing in scientific, clinical research & engineering.
