OverviewOur client, an engineering firm specializing in renewable energy, water, and environmental solutions, is seeking a Structural Engineer - Entry Level to support structural design and evaluation of concrete and steel structures for hydroelectric and renewable projects. This role involves performing analysis, supporting inspections and condition assessments of infrastructure, and assisting with construction support under senior staff guidance. The ideal candidate brings experience with structural analysis and CAD tools, knowledge of relevant codes and design practices, and strong communication and teamwork skills. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S., able to obtain authorization in Canada, and willing to travel as needed. This full-time position is open to candidates located in Charlotte, NC.ResponsibilitiesPerform structural design and evaluation of concrete and steel structuresSupport general civil design for hydroelectric and renewable energy projectsApply engineering analysis and design throughout project lifecycle under senior staff guidanceConduct structural inspections of infrastructure such as penstocks, surge tanks, and damsSupport condition assessments and documentation of existing infrastructureProvide construction support services, including site visits and coordinationCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams on hydropower, renewable energy, and restoration projectsParticipate in office-based project coordination and team collaboration (minimum 3 days onsite)RequirementsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Structural focus)Knowledge of structural engineering codes, standards, and design practicesExperience with structural modeling and analysis (MathCAD, RISA-3D, SAP2000)Experience with CAD/design tools (AutoCAD, Revit, Civil3D)Understanding of concrete and steel structural design, finite element analysis, hydraulics, and soil mechanicsAbility to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams across project lifecycleStrong written and verbal communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Authorized to work in the U.S.; ability to obtain work authorization in Canada (no sponsorship available)Willingness to travel; valid driver's license requiredWork sponsorship is not available at this time.
