Job Description

The Accounting Manager will train, coach, and supervise accounting specialists who are performing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions at the site level. In addition, the position will include financial transactional oversight for multiple business units and serve as the primary accounting contact for all related matters. Candidates will work independently, under limited supervision, reporting on major activities and divisional financial results through periodic meetings.JOB DUTIESTimely and accurate financial reportingLead the month-end close process, ensuring adherence to deadlines, working closely with Controller and effectively communicating progressReviews P&L to ensure compliance with established accounting standards and procedures; make corrections and adjustments as needed.Analyzes financial results and research, resolves and effectively explains variances to budget and forecastPrepares accruals, correcting entries and effectively communicates them with shared services accounting teamResearch and resolve complex accounting issues and transactionsLead, mentor, manage and develop a team of accounting administrative field staff, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth.Organize workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks and identify areas for process improvements and efficiencyMonitor employee performance and productivity to develop and drive KPI achievementDisseminate information from upper management to employees and vice versaReviews and updates processes and procedures for accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable and general accounting.Applies knowledge of the company's business activities, systems, processes and controls, including policies and procedures.Assists the Controller with annual planning and ad-hoc reporting and special projectsPreparation of various monthly management reportsREQUIREMENTSBachelor's degree in accounting or finance8+ years of progressive professional experience in accounting, finance or a closely related field are required.Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting and generally accepted accounting principles5+ years of people management experienceExperience in remote management of personnelExcellent analytical, problem-solving, critical-thinking and decision-making skillsSelf-starter, can operate under minimal direct supervisionDemonstrated ability of working with various levels of an organization including senior personnelMust be detailed oriented and possess ability to communicate accounting concepts to operational personnel as neededProfessional demeanor with great interpersonal and communication skillsTechnology - proficient using PC, electronic file management and Microsoft products (Outlook, SharePoint, Word), Adobe, Acumatica experience a plusAdvanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookupsNeeds to be a 'doer" and team player with service-oriented attitude, demonstrating flexibility when neededGood time-management skills with ability to focus and complete tasks accuratelyCertification : CPA a plusTravel : 15%
