Title: Hardware Lab ManagerLocation: Redmond, WAContract100% On-site This position is not C2C eligibleRole OverviewThe Hardware Lab Manager is responsible for owning and operating a hardware lab environment that supports program validation, device readiness, and execution at scale. This role blends hands-on hardware and systems engineering work with lab operations, coordination, and leadership responsibilitiesThe ideal candidate is comfortable being both in the lab"”working directly with devices, imaging, and recovery workflows"”and at the operational level, ensuring the lab runs efficiently, consistently, and in alignment with program timelines. This person acts as a key bridge between technical execution and program coordination.Key ResponsibilitiesHardware Lab Ownership & OperationsManage and oversee the day-to-day operation of a hardware lab environment, ensuring devices, tooling, and workflows are organized, functional, and scalable.Establish and maintain lab standards, processes, and best practices to support repeatable and reliable execution.Ensure lab readiness to support Program distribution and validation execution, including managing device availability and health.Hands-On Device & Systems WorkPerform and oversee device setup, configuration, imaging, flashing, and recovery workflowsTroubleshoot hardware, OS, and system-level issues that impact device readiness or validation timelines.Ensure devices meet required readiness criteria prior to being distributed for program use or validation activities.Program & Stakeholder CollaborationServe as the primary point of contact with the TPM (Technical Program Manager) lead, collaborating closely on program execution, priorities, and timelines.Communicate lab status, risks, and blockers clearly to program stakeholders.Coordinate across teams to align lab activities with program needs and execution plans.Leadership & OversightBalance hands-on technical execution with operational leadership, ensuring the lab runs smoothly even when multiple priorities are in flight.Provide guidance and oversight to others working in or using the lab, ensuring adherence to processes and standards.Proactively identify opportunities to improve lab efficiency, reliability, and scalability.Ideal Candidate ProfileThe client is looking for someone who:Has experience managing or overseeing a hardware lab environment, even if the role was partially hands-on.Is comfortable owning lab operations end-to-end, not just performing isolated technical tasks.Can balance technical depth (hardware, imaging, systems troubleshooting) with coordination and leadership responsibilitiesIs organized, communicative, and confident acting as a central point of accountability for lab readiness and execution.Thrives in environments where priorities shift and program timelines matter.
