Job Description

Job Overview:Akkodis is seeking an experienced R&D Test Engineer with a strong background in the medical device industry to support test method development, automation, prototyping, and device characterization activities. This role will work closely with R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to develop scalable and efficient testing solutions for medical device verification and validation.The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in test automation, fixture development, scripting, and prototyping, with the ability to drive innovative testing solutions in a fast-paced engineering environment.Pay Range: $30/hr. -$34/hr. on W2 (The pay rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)Key Responsibilities:Develop, optimize, and execute test methods for characterization, verification, and validation of medical device components and systems.Design and implement automated test setups to:Reduce manual interventionImprove testing efficiency and throughputEnable long-duration and continuous testing cyclesDevelop and maintain:Test scriptsInstrument control logicHardware automation solutionsTroubleshoot and improve test systems for reliability and repeatability.Prototyping & Fixture DevelopmentDesign and develop 3D-printed test fixtures to support prototype evaluation and pre-clinical testing.Build, assemble, and modify sample components for:Performance testingFeasibility studiesDevice characterizationSupport rapid prototyping efforts to accelerate product development timelines.Process & Equipment Evaluation:Evaluate and optimize settings on manufacturing and additive manufacturing systems, including 3D printers and precision equipment.Conduct experiments to improve product performance metrics such as:Electrode impedanceSignal-to-noise ratio (SNR)Partner with manufacturing teams to ensure test methodologies align with scalable production processes.Data Analysis & Documentation:Collect, analyze, and interpret test data to identify performance trends and opportunities for improvement.Prepare and present technical findings to cross-functional teams including R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing.Maintain accurate engineering documentation including:Test protocolsValidation documentationTechnical reportsExperimental recordsRequired Qualifications:Minimum 3+ years of experience in the medical device industryStrong hands-on experience in:Test method development and optimizationAutomated test system developmentTest automation and scriptingBuilding automated test setups3D-printed fixture design and developmentPrototype assembly and component testingExperience evaluating and optimizing manufacturing or additive manufacturing equipment settingsStrong analytical and troubleshooting skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishPreferred Skills:Experience working in R&D or product development environmentsKnowledge of medical device verification and validation processesFamiliarity with instrumentation, automation hardware, and data acquisition systemsExperience supporting early-stage product development and characterization testingAdditional Requirements:Ability to work independently with minimal supervisionStrong multitasking and time management skillsAbility to adapt quickly in a fast-paced engineering environmentStrong attention to detail and ability to follow complex proceduresCollaborative, team-oriented mindset with a focus on project successIf you are interested in this role, then please click APPLY NOW.
