At Carter Maddox, we build the teams behind the energy transition.We partner with fast-growing platforms across generation, storage, grid infrastructure and the software layer that connects it all.We've been retained on an exclusive search with a global renewable energy asset manager supporting utility-scale renewable asset management activities across North America.Senior Controls Engineer - Renewable Energy The missionSupport deployment and operation of PPCs, PLCs and SCADA systems in utility-scale renewable energy assets across North AmericaWork across greenfield project delivery, brownfield upgrades and operational optimisationSupport grid-connected solar PV and BESS projects operating across major ISO/RTO marketsCollaborate with global engineering teams delivering advanced plant control technologiesThe roleConfigure, commission and optimise Power Plant Controller (PPC) systemsSupport plant-level control strategies including active power, voltage regulation, ramp rate and curtailment controlIntegrate PPC systems with SCADA platforms and plant control hardwareWork with SEL PLCs and renewable plant control systemsExecute commissioning and grid compliance testing across utility-scale projectsTroubleshoot plant control behaviour and support operational performance improvementCoordinate closely with EPCs, asset owners, operators and engineering teamsThe profileExperience with PPC systems, plant controls or grid integration environmentsBackground across utility-scale energy infrastructureExperience supporting commissioning, testing and operational troubleshooting activitiesKnowledge of SCADA protocols and industrial control systemsComfortable travelling across North America to support live projects Why this roleExposure to utility-scale renewable and storage assets across North AmericaDirect involvement in plant controls, grid integration and operational performanceOpportunity to work on large-scale projects across the fastest-growing areas of the energy marketIf you're interested, please apply here.
