About the CompanyWe are seeking a Mechanical Systems Design Engineer to design, build, test, and deliver mechanical systems that perform reliably in real-world conditions. This role involves full lifecycle ownership of hardware, from early prototypes through production-ready systems. The engineer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure mechanical components meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability requirements.About the RoleThis position is located onsite in Leander, TX, United States. Compensation is approximately $150,000, depending on experience, expertise, and demonstrated performance.ResponsibilitiesDesign mechanical components and assemblies, including performing calculations, tolerance analysis, and applying GD&T principlesCreate detailed technical drawings and documentation for manufacturing and assemblyEnsure mechanical designs integrate effectively with broader system architecture and load conditionsDesign and integrate mechanisms such as linkages, gears, motors, actuators, and structural assembliesDevelop prototypes and iterate rapidly using internal fabrication tools or external vendorsManage the process from CAD design to fabrication, installation, testing, and refinementConduct real-world testing, identify failure modes, analyze results, and implement design improvementsPerform basic engineering analysis including stress analysis, FEA, or other simulation tools when neededDevelop designs that are scalable and manufacturable in production environmentsCollaborate with manufacturing teams and external vendors to ensure precision, quality, and repeatabilitySource materials and components and resolve procurement challenges to maintain development timelinesSupport system builds, troubleshooting, and integration activities as neededThe mechanical integrity, performance, and manufacturability of your designsComponents, mechanisms, and structures from concept ? productionIteration speed without sacrificing reliability or safetyGetting parts built, assembled, tested, and validated-no handoffsIf it touches metal, motion, load paths or force, you're accountableQualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or a related discipline5+ years of professional experience in mechanical design or hardware engineeringSelf-starter, capable of performing tasks as an individual as well as working well in a team.Servant-leader mentality, extreme ownership, willing to participate in different and rapidly changing projects in a dynamic environment.
