Job Title: Project Engineer Location: Detroit MI USA 48226-1221Pay Rate: $70 - $75/hr. Duration: 6 MonthDescription:Performs project initiation, planning, procurement, and engineering design evaluations and works to complete projects within budget and scheduling restraints. Reviews industry policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance. Coordinating with stakeholders in the project initiation phase to identify the problem, evaluate alternative solutions, establish scope, develop an estimate, and determine the return on investment. Planning requires coordination of engineering design, material and construction specification document development, competitive procurement/bid events for equipment, materials and labor. Assess individual project needs and the project portfolio and prepare presentations and reports for management. Provides technical support throughout the project lifecycle. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in a heavy industrial construction environment. Relies on instructions and preestablished guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under general supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. 3 or more years of experience in the field or in a related area. Requires a bachelor's degree.PE would be working on capital projects supporting power generation facilities. Projects include:Large capital maintenance (Boiler, turbine, environmental systems, duct/fans, electrical switchgear, controls)Infrastructure repair, replacement or upgrades in areas such as seawall, compressors, water treatment, piping, roadways, conveyors, building facilitiesRegulatory compliance projects pertaining to security infrastructure, emissions, settling basins, safetyTo help narrow the pool further:These are some key requirements I'm looking for in potential candidates:4-yr Degree in Engineering - Any discipline is acceptable3-7 years of experience in one or more of the following sectors:Energy and Utility in any area (power generation, transmission, distribution, renewable energy, energy storage, etc)Oil and Gas, (refineries, drilling, exploration, etc)Gas storage and pipelineMunicipal utilityWastewater treatment and processingMajor infrastructure (roads, bridges, waterways, etc.)Industrial facilities maintenanceIndustrial/Commercial construction working for a major constructorChemical processing in a heavy industrial environmentExperience working on projects $500K+ in magnitudeSome knowledge of project management and/or construction managementHas worked in a projectized environmentPreferred qualifications:Professional Engineer license in the state of MichiganPMP or CAPM certification
