Yard Assistant

The Yard Assistant is responsible for assisting the Yard Coordinator and Fleet Department with John Burns' yard, parking areas, buildings, and equipment. This person is based at our Orland office 80% of the time, and on jobsites 20% of the time. We're looking for you to do the following: Assist Yard Coordinator with the upkeep & maintenance of the yard, parking areas, and buildings. This includes the unlocking of the yard gates early in the morning and afternoon. Assist Yard Coordinator to the deliver/return all John Burns Construction Company owned or rented equipment, tools, and materials to John Burns Construction Company jobsites/field offices/other yards. Assist in receiving all deliveries to office and yard. Assist in routine maintenance on generators, saws, pumps, other small tools, and forklifts. Snow removal at office, parking lot, and yard. Assist in light testing and traffic light assembly/disassembly for traffic lighting projects. Assist fleet in cleaning vehicles and machines. Apply/remove decals on vehicles and machines. Assist with registration and plating of vehicles. You have: High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of two years' experience with operating tools, equipment, and maintaining a warehouse. Valid drivers' license and good driving record - CDL preferred, John Burns is willing to reimburse 100% of CDL school expenses upon graduating and passing CDL Driver's Test. Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Basic knowledge and use of computer software such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access.
