Project Engineer duties include active roles in the construction process from inception to completion. The roles include the following: Communicate with vendors for quotes and submittal requests per Project Manager's direction. Assist Project Manager in preparing submittal packages, proposals, estimates and change orders. Review all project drawings and documents, conduct regular jobsite progress walks. Understand and review project information including Plans and specifications, Submittals, Shop drawings, Contracts, Daily reports, RFIs, Addendums/ amendments, Tracking of DVBE/MBE/WBE/SBE/LBE compliance, Client contacts and onsite field personnel, Schedule, Equipment procurement log, Site safety procedures and documents, Project forms such as QAQC forms, Commissioning, training, startup and close out documents.Ensure that the Construction Administrator is maintaining all field and project folders with current documentation. Work with superintendent and foremen to maintain project schedule and daily reports and logs. Participate in pre-job meeting with Field / Shop Foremen, Safety Officer, Estimator(s), Project Manager, Superintendent, Engineer(s) / Detailers (if applicable) and Startup / Controls Technician. Visit job site regularly and ensures that the foremen have what they need to complete the project efficiently, understand project progress, communicate with client to find resolution to problems and confirm installation coincides with contract scope. Participate in project meetings and help Project Manager maintain client relationship with the project. Provide support to field foremen and superintendent as it relates to conflict resolution in order to maintain a positive relationship with customer. Additionally:Project Engineer shall support the Project Manager and develop a full understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the Project Manager as team leader with ultimate responsibility for every aspect of the project. Project Engineers are responsible for working with the Project Manager to ensure that projects are executed thoroughly and ensuring that delegated construction administrative tasks are executed. Maintain professional appearance in anticipation of attending meetings and maintain professional written and verbal communication both inside and outside the company. Track time spent on projects and fill out bi-weekly timecards accurately and promptly. Demonstrate proficiency with various software packages that include Microsoft Office, MS Project, Bluebeam, Procore, etc.
