Job Description

Quanta Power Solutions is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer who will be responsible for the design and development of electrical systems for power generation and distribution projects. This includes work with gas turbines, renewables, and battery energy storage systems (BESS). This includes understanding interconnection and interaction between generation and substation systems. The engineer will contribute to the development of complete construction packages for power generation islands supporting data center operations.What You'll DoProduce estimate level preliminary designs and material take-offs.Develop and assembling scopes, drawings and specifications into a package to be issued for procurement of materials and equipment.Lead development of detailed design deliverables including:Single-line diagramsMotor elementary diagramsInterconnect diagramsElectrical cable schedulesEquipment specificationMaterial take-offs (MTOs)Grounding, lighting, lightning protection, and heat trace systemsReview and check vendor drawings and other discipline drawings for electrical/instrumentation input.Perform engineering calculations to validate design integrity.Conduct arc flash studies, grounding grid analysis, and relay coordination.Prepare construction packages and support field implementation.Ensure designs meet client expectations, industry standards, and project specifications.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project alignment.Provide on-site startup and commissioning support as needed.Recognize and communicate scope changes and design updates promptly.What You'll BringRequired QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university.Professional Engineer (PE) license required.10+ years of relevant industrial experience in electrical, preferably in EPC environments. Technical Skills & KnowledgeKnowledgeable in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Revit, ElecDes, Etap, SKM, PSCAD, A6132, and Dialux)Strong understanding of NEC, IEEE, and other relevant codes and standards.Ability to produce efficient, constructible designs with attention to cost and schedule.Experience with EPC project workflows and documentation standards.Proficient in Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, Access & Outlook)Soft SkillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.Physical RequirementsAbility to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.Willingness to travel to project sites as required.What You'll GetCompetitive Compensation401(k) Retirement PlanHoliday PayPaid Time Off (PTO)Comprehensive Health CoveragePet InsuranceEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Professional DevelopmentTuition AssistanceEmployee Discount Program
