Controls Engineer (Building Automation)

We are looking for a motivated Building Automation Systems (BAS) Engineer to join our client's growing team in Ashburn, VA. This position is ideal for an engineer with approximately 2 years of experience in HVAC controls or building automation who is eager to grow their technical skills and work on exciting commercial and mission-critical projects.The BAS Engineer will support the design, programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting of building automation systems while collaborating with project managers, senior engineers, and field technicians.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with the design and implementation of BAS and HVAC controls systemsDevelop control drawings, points lists, and project documentationSupport BAS programming, graphics creation, and system integrationParticipate in startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting activitiesCoordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams during project executionReview project plans and specifications to ensure system complianceHelp maintain project schedules, documentation, and customer communicationProvide technical support to field technicians and customers as neededQualificationsBachelor's degree or technical training in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, HVAC, Controls, or related field preferredApproximately 2 years of experience in Building Automation Systems, HVAC controls, or related industryBasic understanding of HVAC systems and automatic controlsFamiliarity with BAS platforms such as Siemens, Johnson Controls, Schneider Electric, Honeywell, Trane, or Niagara-based systemsKnowledge of BACnet or other building systems communication protocols is a plusAbility to read mechanical and electrical drawingsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsGood communication and organizational abilitiesWillingness to learn and grow within the BAS industry
