Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with an advanced manufacturing organization, is seeking a skilled Prototype Assembly Technician. This role is responsible for assembling prototype vehicle systems, supporting vehicle integration activities, and ensuring high-quality mechanical assembly operations are completed safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with heavy vehicle systems, diesel engines, and prototype assembly environments.Job DutiesAssemble prototype vehicle systems and components according to engineering specifications and production schedulesPerform mechanical assembly of chassis, drivetrain, suspension, and power pack systemsSupport integration and fitment activities for prototype vehicle buildsInterpret technical drawings, work instructions, and assembly documentationTroubleshoot mechanical assembly issues and recommend corrective actionsMaintain compliance with all safety standards and shop procedures during assembly operationsCollaborate with engineering teams to identify assembly and design improvementsInspect completed assemblies to ensure quality and functionality requirements are metSkills & ExperienceRequired5+ years of experience in prototype component assembly and heavy vehicle assemblyExperience assembling large vehicle systems and major mechanical subsystemsHands-on experience with diesel engine repair, installation, or heavy equipment assemblyAbility to perform mechanical assembly of chassis, drivetrain, suspension, and power systemsExperience using mechanical hand tools, torque tools, and heavy assembly equipmentAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentationExperience working in manufacturing, prototype, or industrial assembly environmentsDesiredExperience supporting prototype or low-volume vehicle buildsFamiliarity with complex vehicle systems integrationExperience with hydraulic, electrical, or pneumatic vehicle systemsPrior heavy equipment maintenance or assembly backgroundWelding or fabrication experienceTechnical training or certification related to diesel mechanics or heavy vehicle systemsBlue Chip Talent is an award-winning and woman-owned talent solutions provider based out of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
