In addition to developing and implementing internal communications, the Lead, Internal Communications and Community Involvement (ICCI), will also lead event support for Nouryon's Houston-based corporate sponsorships. The role will be approximately 75% writing and 25% events, with an emphasis on communications (and may become 50%-50% during the height of events season). The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer who takes initiative and can identify a story, understand its strategic value, and craft compelling content. This person should also be a trusted advisor to internal clients and a valued partner to the Communications team and the broader organization. The ability to leverage AI technologies, measure the effectiveness and reach of his/her work, and collaborate is essential, as is moving quickly and improvising when necessary.In your future role as a Lead, Internal Communication and Community Involvement, you will be responsible for:Writing & StorytellingServe as a primary writer and editor, translating complex operational and technical topics into clear, engaging content for a global employee audience. This includes long-form features, executive messaging and presentations, email newsletters, intranet articles and posts, and global webcast content.Take ownership of key employee publications "” contribute original stories, edit submissions, and raise overall quality.Be a self-editing writer who sets a high bar, meets deadlines, and produces clean AP Style copy with minimal revision cycles.Track engagement metrics and channel effectiveness; leverage AI to inform strategy.Strategy & PlanningDevelop and execute strategic communications plans tied to business goals and measurable outcomes.Serve as a proactive partner to internal clients "” anticipate needs, advise on message and channel strategy, and bring ideas before being asked.Stay ahead of the news cycle by tracking emerging stories and business milestones. Don't wait for a brief to arrive.EventsManage logistics, hospitality, and attendee experience for:The Houston Texans executive suiteThe Houston Rodeo executive suiteThe Houston office's annual holiday party(Strong support and eventual leadership of) Nouryon's Integrated Supply Chain team's Supplier of the Year conferenceCollaborationBuild relationships across functions to gather information firsthand and stay current.Partner across the Communications team with follow-through and mutual accountability.We believe you bring:Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field.5+ years of corporate communications experience with a published portfolio demonstrating AP Style mastery, versatility across formats, and the ability to write clearly about complex operational or technical topics.Exceptional writing ability is non-negotiable.
