Polar Crane Project ManagerProject: SLR Polar Crane ProjectsStartApril / May 2025HoursFlexible - 4x10's or 5x8'sDuration1 year - will extend based on performance/project needST Pay RateUp to $85.00 / hrPer Diem$100 (7 days)Work LocationSurry Nuclear Plant - Surry, VA 23883PMP certification preferred, SRO certification preferred but not requiredTop Required SkillsCandidate must have nuclear industry experience as a Project ManagerMUST have significant hands on experience with large overhead crane'sMUST have Nuclear Utility Project Management ExperienceMUST be willing to work onsite at Surry Power StationMUST have experience leading large capital projects full life cycle at a Nuclear Power Station - Ability to develop, manage and monitor project performance to ensure results meet project requirements, budgets, and schedules.MUST have prior experience managing project risk through collaboration with the project team, station stakeholders, suppliers, and executive leadership.MUST have demonstrated ability to coordinate the resolution of technical problems and implement changes.MUST have prior experience managing large complex projects involving heavy technical engineering and station interfaceStrong verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal, facilitation, and presentation capabilities.Communicating regularly with team, station stakeholders, and other departments through use of presentations, log entries, and monthly reports.Ability to lead, collaborate, or work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teamsAbility to work and develop rapport with all levels of management and staffJob SummaryA Generation Project Manager is needed to support the Subsequent License Renewal (SLR) Major Project management team at Surry Power Station in Surry, VA.Manages or supports specific phases of major projects including business development support, site development, permitting support (air, water, state, local, etc...), scope development, major contract negotiations (equipment, engineering or EPC), engineering, procurement, and construction contracts, construction activities, commissioning and transition to commercial operation.Manages all phases of improvement projects including permitting, contract negotiations, engineering contracts, construction contracts, construction activities and commissioning.Projects ranging in size from major complex projects to smaller improvement projects in existing generating facilities. Major complex projects include Polar Crane upgrade, and R-22 Refrigerant (includes containment chillers and CARF cooling coil replacement).Typically reports to Supervisor of Project Management.Preferred Years of Experience:7+ years of nuclear industry experience in the field of construction, engineering, finance and/or management with a minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience in project management.MUST have prior experience as a PM on a polar crane project and or assisted a PM in leading a polar crane projectSignificant relevant experience with the leading/assisting with installation of large overhead cranesHeavy load lift activities experienceEducationBachelor Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of educationOther Education: Business, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management
