Job Description The Superintendent is a supervisory position responsible for managing the landscape construction installation process including scheduling and managing staff, subcontractors, equipment, and materials. This position requires you to be proficient in performing complex tasks of landscape construction that include a wide range of responsibilities and skills that will allow you to effectively lead a team to ensure customer satisfaction and job profitability. Role and Responsibilities• Managed multiple projects simultaneously providing technical guidance for field staff• Provide support and communication to the operations and project management teams, working as a liaison with the field staff to ensure the successful management of each project• Manage labor budgets to guarantee bid productivity, hourly average wage rate, crew ratios, and compensation for premium and double time worked• Partner with foremen and purchasing staff on materials management, ensuring deliveries are scheduled correctly and budgets are met• Always have consistent knowledge of the branch's equipment inventory, foreseeing any future needs• Mobilize staffing to ensure each project meets the customer's completion scheduling• Oversee the management of equipment rentals, usage, and scheduling moves from each job site as needed• Build relationships with customers and field staff by conducting weekly walk-throughs to identify any challenges that require correction• Communicate consistently with onsite construction Superintendents to provide updates on project progress• Coach, mentor, and train Foremen throughout the lifecycle of each project• Review billing with the project management team for completion of all subcontractor's scope of work• Oversee all time and materials work orders for each project• Review and manage all plan changes and additional work performed on each project to ensure completion and budgets and met accordingly• Collaborate with shop personnel on scheduling equipment maintenance in a timely manner• Understand and promote the company's safety program• Help manage the timecard process to assist the administrative staff with timely reporting and payroll execution• Review monthly billing forms, forecasting billing quantities, and forwarding information to Project Manager and Branch Manager Qualifications/Skills • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in the commercial landscape construction industry• Proficient in reading and understanding landscape trade plans and digital takeoff software• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment• Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)• Knowledge of landscape irrigation installation and plant identification • General speaking and understanding of Spanish preferred
