We service the lower Southeast, upper Northeast and reach as far as the Midwest to help maintain and restore power to the communities we serve. We pull our crews together from our satellite locations to quickly and efficiently answer the call. When a call comes in for the probability of an outage we will travel near and far to aid in the restoration of power.We give back to our local communities and support our IBEW family. GMB Power Line Services LLC success is because our crews and staff that are willing to go the extra mile.Position Summary:The Mechanic Foreman plays a critical leadership role in the management and execution of daily fleet maintenance and repair operations in our mechanical repair shop. This position oversees a team of mechanics and support staff in the fleet yard, ensuring that all service activities are performed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate is a technically proficient, hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong administrative skills, and consistently drives operational improvement.The Mechanic Foreman serves as the primary liaison between mechanics, the parts department, and operations leadership, ensuring seamless workflow and consistent communication. This role is responsible for scheduling, resource coordination, quality assurance, and supporting the ongoing development of technical personnel.Leadership, Safety & Team CoordinationDirect daily workload and technician scheduling to ensure efficient workflow for yard.Lead, train, and mentor a team of mechanics.Foster a work environment built on safety, accountability, mutual respect, and continuous professional growth.Promote compliance with safety procedures and service protocols partnering with Director Safety and Safety Managers & Representatives.Oversee time tracking, ensuring team properly clock in and out of jobs and adhere to repair timelines.Technical and Operational OversightSupervise all diagnostic, maintenance, and repair functions across the fleet, including bucket trucks, digger derricks, trailers, and support vehicles.Assist mechanics in troubleshooting complex electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues.Ensure all repairs meet or exceed safety and quality standards through regular inspections and hands-on involvement.Evaluate work orders to confirm accuracy, completeness, and alignment with operational requirements.Coordinate with field teams to provide mobile repair support as needed, including emergency or storm-related service events.Administration and DocumentationMaintain accurate and timely service records, repair documentation, parts usage, and labor hours through digital fleet management systems.Document any additional required repairs identified during inspections or service and follow up as needed.Fleet Coordination and Resource ManagementCoordinate and partner with Director Fleet OperationsMonitor preventive maintenance schedules and ensure all vehicles are in regulatory compliance.Manage inventory, supply forecasting, and vendor relationships.Oversee budgeting, resource allocation, and assist with future fleet planning.Customer and Stakeholder EngagementServe as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, clearly communicating repair needs and timelines.Provide technical insights and recommendations to leadership to improve fleet performance.Support emergency response operations by troubleshooting and performing critical repairs during outages.Education Requirements & Experience Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required.Vocational or technical certification in automotive or diesel mechanics preferred.A.S.E. certifications preferred.A.S.E. Master Technician a plus.Technical SkillsStrong working knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, and diagnostics for specialized equipment.Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is highly desirable.Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.Supervisory experience with the demeanor and ability to motivate and mentor teams.Capable of communicating clearly with internal departments and external vendors and customers.Strong planning and scheduling abilities to manage shifting priorities and meet deadlines.Attention to detail in documentation and process adherence.Analytical mindset with a focus on improving shop productivity and reducing downtime.Job Type: Full-Time, Hourly (Non - Exempt) Overtime EligibleBenefits:Paid Time OffPaid Sick DaysPaid HolidaysHealth Insurance OptionsLife Insurance Options401(k) PlansPhysical Requirements:Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs.Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, and working in confined or elevated areas.Exposure to loud environments, outdoor weather, and occasional travel to sites.Schedule:Varies Due to Nature of Industry (M-F)Occasional Weekend Hours Required
