Wavelength has built a reputation for excellence and professionalism in a challenging marketplace, and has an incredible team doing big things.About the roleThe Senior Estimator will run the complex process of bidding lighting work, from takeoff review to buyout, without missing a detail. The Senior Estimator will partner with a wide array of individuals: clients, manufacturers, rep agencies, and the team internally. The preferred candidate has experience pricing, bidding, and closing work in the lighting or construction industry in New York City.ResponsibilitiesManage the takeoff process, liaising with the Takeoff team to ensure drawings are accurately and quickly reviewedReview architectural drawings and documents produced by the Takeoff team and develop RFIs as neededInterface with the lighting procurement marketplace and create and consolidate RFQsCreate proposals for internal and client reviewClose business with Wavelength's existing contractor accountsBring new accounts onto the Wavelength platformBuy out awarded jobs profitably and manage the handoff to the Project Management teamBuild and maintain relationships throughout the lighting manufacturer landscape, including representatives in New York CityCollaborate closely with the Preconstruction team to set priorities, manage the bid pipeline, and implement estimating best practicesWho we are looking forDynamic professionalism: The right candidate is ready to build on Wavelength's excellent reputation in the marketplace while contributing to the processes and practices that will support and sustain Wavelength's growth trajectoryExcellent communicator: Estimating when done well involves clear, frequent communication, so the Senior Estimator needs to have excellent written and verbal communication skillsCollaborative self-starter: The Senior Estimator will be someone who manages themselves effectively with an independent work ethic while also collaborating with Wavelength team members to enhance the estimating processLeadership experience: The ideal candidate has led estimating teams and understands how to motivate others to produce successful resultsOther qualifications4+ years construction industry or adjacent procurement or estimating experienceProficient in construction-specific software such as Oasis, Procure, BuildingConnected, etc.Proficient in Excel, Google Suite, and Microsoft Office SuiteEngineering or other technical background preferredJob detailsCompensation: $90,000-$110,000 annuallyBenefits package including fully-paid health care, dental, vision, and paid time offHybrid position; office in Downtown Brooklyn
