At this stealth-mode start-up, we are using the emerging tools of genetic medicine to engineer cures for human diseases. We believe these powerful new approaches can be used to treat, or cure, common diseases that afflict large numbers of patients. To realize this vision, we are building therapeutics that modify and control multiple genes at the DNA, RNA, and protein level in vivo. We have a vibrant, collaborative workplace that supports our team in performing great science while bringing their whole selves to work. We are seeking several highly motivated, creative individuals to join our growing team.About the roleAs a Senior Research Associate, you will work on the Product Engineering team interfacing with Molecular Biology and Computational Biology groups. In this role, you will help translate AI predictions into experimental validation by executing the bench work needed for rapid iteration of gene editing designs. In this role you will:Conduct high-throughput cell culture experiments, performing plasmid transfections to validate AI-predicted gene editing designs in human cell modelsWork closely with computational scientists and molecular biologists to rapidly design, build and test novel gene editing systems in human cellsAssist in the production of research-scale AAV preparations for delivering gene editing systems to target cells Perform routine molecular biology techniques including plasmid miniprep, Gibson assembly, and other cloning methodsProvide general lab support and maintenanceFoster collaboration with cross-functional teams to accelerate therapeutic development through iterative design-build-test cyclesRequirementsA bachelor's or master's in Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics or related life science disciplineA minimum of two years of experience in industry or academic researchHands-on experience with mammalian cell culture, including transfection techniques in human cell linesProficiency in standard molecular biology techniques such as plasmid miniprep, Gibson assembly, restriction digest, and PCRPreferred QualificationsFamiliarity with high-throughput experimental workflows and data-driven design testing cyclesStrong organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining lab equipment, reagents, and documentationDemonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across interdisciplinary teams, including computational and wet lab scientistsAdaptability in a fast-paced research environment and enthusiasm for iterative, hypothesis-driven experimentationPrevious experience using CRISPR-Cas or similar gene editing tools for therapeutic applicationsPrevious experience using AAV as a therapeutic vector
