Denim Designer

Pistola is looking for a creative, motivated denim designer with a love for denim and a passion for creating modern denim designs for the contemporary womenswear customer. This is a permanent full-time role for a candidate who can work in a fast paced, high fashion environment.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site role as Denim Designer for PISTOLA Denim, reporting to the Design Director.The Denim Designer is responsible for overseeing the denim design process from creation to complete garment, including trend and competitor research, sketching and tech packing, fit and wash development, fitting and working cross functionally on a daily basis. A keen eye for detail and an obsession with creating the perfect jean is a must.Position Responsibilities:Research and identify brand right denim trends for the contemporary women's denim category.Assisting in the creation of seasonal concept and color palette, wash and fabric innovation.Create and maintain presentation documents. Own all aspects of denim design; sketching, tech pack creation, wash development, fit development, trim and construction innovation and attending fittings.Collaborate and develop strong working relationships with cross-functional teams and vendors through excellent communication and strategic problem-solving. Illustrator sketching and preparing technical packages that communicate style and technical details for accurate sample development.Manage critical deadlines per the design and development calendar.Denim sample management (Fit/Proto/PP Samples). As well as prepping and organizing samples for key milestone meetings. Uphold design integrity and high-quality execution throughout the entire development process from concept through to production. QualificationsBachelor or associate degree in apparel designA portfolio in denim is required5+ years of previous denim design experienceExperience in PLM systemsProficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)Strong sketching skills and tech pack creation (Excel, Illustrator, and PLM systems)Knowledge of denim garment construction, fabrics, and production processesStrong attention to detail and follow-up skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentStrong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsThis position is in office 5 days a weekPerks:Medical, Dental, Vision Benefits Available401K with MatchEmployee Discount
