Import Specialist

Candidates must be coming directly from another freight forwarder and be based in San Francisco. They are actively hiring for an Import Specialist to handle both air & ocean. Experience with shipments to/from China is a plus.Job DescriptionOur client is seeking a skilled Import Specialist who is able to handle both air and ocean. This role will require communications between forwarders, custom brokers and customers while managing cargo movement to ensure correct measures are in place and all needs are met.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Handling full process A-ZTrack and traceQuotingArrival confirmationResponsible for assisting department co-workers with problems, issues, and questionsInputting data into CargoWiseIssue documentationResponsible for reviewing all documentsAssists the day-to-day operations of the import departmentResponsible for informing management of progress and requirements of the departmentJob Requirements:Minimum of 2 years working in a freight forwarding environmentGood knowledge of TSA regulationsGood knowledge of air and ocean importsCustomer service within a freight forwarding environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsMust be able to work well under pressure and meet deadlinesCargoWise experience is preferable
