Richter Restrepo PLLC, a diverse, collegial and growing law firm, certified by both New York City and New York State as a Minority Business Enterprise ("MBE") that focuses on affordable housing, community development, construction and real estate law is seeking an Associate Attorney with 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience to handle both real estate transactions and litigation matters in the Firm's fields of practice, including but not limited to, residential, multifamily and commercial closings, joint ventures, partnerships, affordable housing and community development transactions, real estate and business disputes, construction-contract disputes, and commercial and residential landlord-tenant proceedings, among others. What you will be doing:The Associate Attorney will be responsible for commencing, overseeing, and handling assigned matters from beginning to end with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 5 years of litigation experience in New York City Civil and New York State Courts, as well as some experience in ( or desire to learn) commercial real estate closings, commercial leasing, joint ventures and partnerships, construction lending, construction and architectural agreements. Experience in affordable housing, supportive housing, transitional housing, and faith-based development transactions, non-profit representation and cooperative-condominium law in the City and State of New York is a plus. J.D. degree from an accredited law school in the United States, or equivalent. ? Admitted to the practice of Law in the State of New York, and in good standing. ? At least 3 to 5 years of experience of relevant law practice.? Proficient using Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams (or other equivalent conferencing software, like Zoom). Experience using NYSCEF and/or PACER. Able to adapt to the Firm's legal management software, CLIO. Proficient with Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw. Experience drafting and editing documents. Experience with oral arguments before a judge or tribunal.Experience negotiating settlements, drafting contracts and collaborating with others.Salary and Benefits:Base salary range will be from $95,000 - $120,000 per year, commensurate with relevant work experience. Employee performance bonuses also provided. The Firm subsidizes the health insurance plan, and 10-days paid vacation is available after 3-month introductory period. All other lawful statutory benefits, including family and sick leave, are also included.
